Nymph of the mountain, Oréade has a life expectancy of several thousand years, like the mountains she protects. Spirit of nature, she is always represented as beautiful and graceful, emotional and sensual. Often associated with the muses, her role is to inspire men, as well as to protect lovers.
Made from vines planted in the heart of the Dentelles de Montmirail at an altitude of more than 350 meters on clay-limestone soils, Oréade is composed of 65% Grenache noir, a very resistant grape variety of the Rhone Valley giving the wine all its character and robustness, 20% Syrah, giving the wine floral aromas of violets, and 15% Mourvèdre, a qualitative grape variety giving the wine elegance and finesse.
The grapes are harvested only by hand, on vines spread out on hillsides. The grapes are vinified by variety, to allow them to express themselves fully and thus optimize the future work of assembly. The whole berries are macerated for about three weeks for an optimal extraction of the aromas. This wine is then aged in vats for 18 months.
Like its namesake, Oréade inspires beauty and grace. Like the Nymph, it has no time limit.
Scents of garrigue, pipe tobacco and fresh prunes complement aromas of rum and oranges in the mouth. Its tannins are soft and silky, and the whole is sapid and long in the mouth.
Oréade is the perfect wine to accompany a leg of lamb, a guinea fowl with cabbage or a late evening with friends.
